Ortiz: I'd like to thank all the Touch Detective fans out there for their support. These features really appeal to DS owners, who tend to value creativity and innovation. It's funny and quirky, with really great art and music. How do you think Touch Detective has been able to capture gamers' attention in a changing market? Ortiz: I believe Touch Detective has been able to stand out because of its charm. I advise players to consider every character they meet a suspect, because after all, The Cornstalker IS a master of disguise… IGN: Point-and-click games are something of a niche market nowadays. Of course, Mackenzie and the gang will be getting into plenty of comic mischief this time around as well. IGN: How many chapters are included in Touch Detective 2 1/2, and about how long is it? Any teasers as to what Mackenzie will be getting into this time around? Ortiz: There are five chapters in Touch Detective 2 1/2, as well as a Bonus Episode that consists of 30 side quests, which makes it significantly longer than the original. With a system as intuitive as this, players can easily become engrossed in the story as they uncover the clues spread throughout each of the five brain-tickling cases. The point-and-click style of play is perfectly suited for this type of game. IGN: As far as the gameplay goes, how much as the core design changed? Are there new gameplay elements players will need to work with this time around, or is it the same overall gameplay with new cases to work on? Ortiz: Well, as the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. As for the 2 1/2, we thought it would be fun to use the numbering system of the beloved Naked Gun film series. In fact, Chapter 2 takes place entirely on a train. And, while we're on the subject, why are you calling it 2 1/2 instead of just 2? Will there be a 3 1/3 next? Ortiz: Touch Detective 2 1/2 introduces a new cast of wacky characters to the world, including Inspector Daria and The Cornstalker, who are my two favorites. IGN: For those that were Touch Detective junkies how has 2 1/2 expanded on the world of Touch Detective.

2 1/2 also features an overarching storyline, something fans really wanted in the original. For example, one of the major complaints we heard from fans was that puzzle-solving items blended into the background and were difficult for them to find, so hot spots were added making it much easier to discern items on the field. Ortiz: The developers were very good about listening to fans of the original and making changes they thought would enhance the gameplay of the sequel. How has the game changed from its previous release? Please be specific. IGN: The first game was met with mixed reviews.
